An office receptionist got the shock of her life earlier this week when she found a 14cm long snake entangled in the web of a deadly spider.
Tania Robertson, a receptionist at an electrical firm , came in to work on Tuesday and spotted the strange sight next to a desk in her office.
The snake, which had obviously died from the spider's poisonous bite, was off the ground and caught up in the web.
Leon Lotz of the arachnology department at the NationalMuseum said it was only the second time that he had heard of a snake getting caught in a spider's web.
It is believed the snake got caught in the web on Monday night.
But it did not take the spider long to bite it.
A red mark on the snake's stomach was evidence of where the spider had started eating it.
Throughout Tuesday, the spider checked on her prey, but on
Wednesday she rolled it up and started spinning a web around it.
She also kept lifting it higher off the ground, while continually snacking on it.
Even a fly that accidentally landed on the snake was chased off aggressively.......

Thanks for the stills...
Check this co-incidence out: Vijay and Ajith are doing their 48th films at the same time now (Aegan and Villu). Both films are produced by Ayngaran International (Karunamoorthy). Both films have Nayanthara as heroine, both films are directed by the same family (Raju Sundaram for Aegan, and Prabudeva for Villu).
Most probably, the 50th film for both of them will release almost at the same time, to round off these amazing set of co-incidences.
THIS IS WHAT RIVALRY IS ALL ABOUT!!!! These days, its healthy rivalry with them sharing some pleasantries at functions (Vijay carrying Anushka, both meeting at awards function and sitting/chatting together, etc)

The Pattali Makkal katchi (PMK, Toilers' Party) in Tamil Nadu staged Tuesday, 29 September 2008 a protest rally in front of the Sri Lankan Deputy High Commission in Chennai, where more than 2000 Tamil activists took part. Welcoming the Tamil Nadu leaders who have extended their support to Eelam Tamils at a critical juncture, Dr. S. Ramadoss, the founder leader of the PMK, urged the remaining leaders to extend their support to pressurise the Central government of India to withdraw military support to the Sri Lankan government which is engaged in a genocide against the Eelam Tamils.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ramadoss encouraged the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi, who has earlier extended support to Eelam Tamils, also to come forward disregarding any pressure from the Centre in India to exert pressure on New Delhi to withdraw its support to the Sri Lankan government. Even if Delhi decides to remove Kalaignar from his office in Tamil Nadu as Chief Minister for the sake of his support to Eelam Tamils, we would get him in power, he proclaimed.
K.S. Mani, the leader of the PMK party, Poet Arivumathi, Artist Santhanam, and Film Director Seeman also addressed the participants. All of them were condemned New Delhi for extending military support to Sri Lankan instead of demanding Sri Lanka to resolve the conflict by peaceful means.
The rally, which began at 11:00 a.m. concluded at 1:00 p.m., resolving its support to the right to self determination of Eelam Tamils and condemning the Sri Lankan state for genocide and the New Delhi for abetting the anti-Tamil agenda of the Sri Lankan government.
